Troop 1059 Earns Manners Badge

When Catherine Holloway worked with Troop 1059, of Westlake, Ohio, two things happened: First, the girls learned the skills and information to earn their required Manners Badge. Second, they had a lot of fun. So much so, they asked Catherine back for follow on sessions to expand and build upon what they had already learned. When Catherine met with Troop Leader Lilly, they discussed a program design that would be appropriate for these fun loving 7 and 8 year olds.

Catherine was able to customize their training based on the interests the girls shared and the requirements specified in the Manners Badge program. "We did a lot of role playing to practice things like how to thank an adult for dinner. After we got over our giggles, I really felt grown up. I can definitely see myself using what I learned in the real world," said Jenna, age 7, of the Troop. Each one of the scouts went on to successfully earn a Manners Badge.
